ASSET MANAGEMENT APPROACH

At Financial Pathfinder, we recognize that no two clients are exactly alike.

Our clients have different priorities, goals, and timelines for managing their wealth. Some may have a higher tolerance for risk while others may have extremely specific tax situations. Because of these infinite variables, we believe no two portfolios should be exactly alike.

We collaborate with third-party money managers and research firms to construct portfolios designed to meet our client investment needs.

Tactical investing defined: the belief that the stock market is inefficient and money managers are able to outperform an investment benchmark index by taking advantage of these inefficiencies.  The philosophy aims to maximize returns through research, analysis, and trends.

Strategic investing defined: the belief that the stock market is efficient and money managers are not able to outperform an investment benchmark index.  This philosophy aims to maximize returns over a long period of time by keeping the allocation of the assets to a pre-determined ratio.

Active investing defined: utilizes money managers to research, analysis, determine, and monitor a portfolio of investments.  Active investing is forward looking at market trends, economy shifts, changes in political landscape, and buy/sell opportunities.  This approach typically incurs higher trading activity than passive investing.

Passive investing defined: buying a broad cross section of the market with limited trading activity. The typical investment purchased include Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs), Index Funds, and Unit Investment Trusts (UITs).

Insurance products offer ‘mortality credits’ not available in securities solutions.  They also offer a lower risk profile relative to securities solutions.  Because of this, insurance products may offer an opportunity to be coordinated with other securities solutions to form a highly effective unified solution within an investment plan.

Some of the reasons clients use insurance-based solutions are their contractual guarantees, structured income solutions, tax-deferred gains, and asset protection.
